What does a chatbot automate in a recruitment process?
You can use a chatbot to automate the first screening at the beginning of your recruitment process. With the help of a bot, you can automate the initial phone call recruiters usually have to make. In most cases, the initial phone call costs a lot of time because candidates are pretty hard to reach. And next to that, it will give recruiters more time to ask the tough questions in the second interview.
How to: automate your recruitment process with a Chatbot
You start by entering all the details necessary for the chatbot to use, enter job requirements, salary range, and other job details like working hours, night shifts, etc. After you’ve done this, the chatbot will recruit candidates online and send them offers. When the chatbot has encountered potential candidates, they will receive a message to start the process whenever they want.
Example candidate contact
Chatbot: Hi, I’m Dora, your virtual assistant. I will help you to get a new job when you need it.
Candidate: Hello
Chatbot: Dan, I’ve found you a great opportunity to work as a recruiter. Are you interested?
Candidate: Yes
Chatbot: You’ll be working for a recruitment firm in Amsterdam
Salary: € 2.500 – 3.500 before tax
Starting date: 1/7/2020
Chatbot: Would you like to start the interview? It will take ten minutes.
Candidate: Yes
Information, consent, and interview!
The chatbot I reviewed will start sharing information about the process, and it will ask for consent due to privacy legislation. The information will only be sent after the candidate agrees. In the interview, the chatbot will ask questions the candidate can answer with yes, no, I don’t know or in numbers. I will show you an example:
Chatbot: Nice! For this offer, you need experience as a recruiter. Have you worked as a recruiter before?
Candidate: Yes
If the candidate answers ‘no’ to this question, the chatbot gives feedback immediately, so the candidate recognizes immediately that this answer would affect the final decision. If the previous question were a must-have, instead of a nice-to-have, it would immediately tell the candidate.
After the interview, the bot will show the candidates a percentage to see directly how their chances are to get the job. At last, it will ask the candidates if it can send the information to the recruiter. Note: because you ask the candidates to do more, it’s essential to read their information carefully before inviting them to your office.
